How Coronavirus is affecting Entertainment Industry

People are staying home and taking precautions to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Theatres, Malls and Markets are closed and the only option for entertainment is Online Streaming Services. Let’s take a look at what is happening in the entertainment world.

Movies are delayed

Black widow, Scarlett Johansson’s first (and most probably last) solo movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has been postponed. The film was set to release on May 1. Black Widow kicks off phase 4 of Marvel Universe after the end of The Infinity Saga with the Endgame.

X-Men spin-off The New Mutants and Disney’s Mulan have already been pulled from their release dates. Other movies include A quiet Place Part 2, No Time to Die, Fast and Furious 9

Early Digital Release

Comics-based movies are extremely popular nowadays. People love superheroes and After Marvel and DC’s huge success Valiant Comics-based movie Bloodshot was meant to Launch a new franchise. Bloodshot was released on March 13 but due to Coronavirus pandemic, it did not perform well. In these circumstances, Sony pictures have confirmed that Bloodshot is getting an early digital release. People will be able to buy and watch it at their home barely a week after its release.

Same is happening for The invisible man and The Hunt.

Production Cancelled

Robert Passinson’s The Batman production has been put on hold. This also includes Disney plus’ show The Falcon and The winter soldier, Jurassic world’s third instalment – Jurassic World: Dominion, Mission Impossible 7, Peaky Blinders season 6, Riverdale season 4, Stranger Things season 4.

Celebrities tested positive

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson has been tested positive for the Coronavirus. posted on Instagram :

Hello, folks. @ritawilson and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.

The British Actor Idris Elba confirmed on Twitter that he had coronavirus. 

Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju who played Tormund Giantsbane confirmed via Instagram that he had been tested positive for COVID 19
